Punjab Security Forces Neutralize Criminal Syndicate Linked to Overseas Handlers, Detain Three Suspects

Amritsar (Gurpreet Singh): In a significant crackdown on illicit networks and syndicate operations, the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) Amritsar and Counter Intelligence Jalandhar, working in tandem with a central intelligence agency, successfully intercepted a specialized gangster cell. The joint tactical operation concluded with the arrest of three active operatives and the confiscation of three high-end, imported pistols alongside compatible ammunition. Following the apprehension, a formal criminal case was filed at the SSOC police station in Amritsar to facilitate a deeper judicial inquiry.

Initial interrogations indicate that the captured suspects were acting as local executors for organized crime figures residing abroad. These overseas masterminds are known to coordinate violent turf wars, run sophisticated extortion operations, and spearhead anti-social conspiracies inside Punjab. Law enforcement reported that the primary responsibilities of the local cell involved managing the transport of illegal arms shipments and carrying out specific criminal assignments issued by their international handlers.

Further background verification by investigators has tied the detained individuals to earlier violent episodes in the state, including an active homicide investigation under the Amritsar Police Commissionerate and a separate attempt-to-murder case reported in Batala. Senior officials emphasized that the current phase of the probe is dedicated to mapping the entire logistics pipeline, uncovering hidden local collaborators, cataloging prior offenses, and completely dismantling the structure of this trans-national syndicate. The Punjab Police reiterated their institutional focus on preserving public order and employing strict legal measures to eliminate gangster networks across the territory.
