Rohtak (Balwinder Singh): Authorities have launched an investigation after unidentified individuals allegedly fired multiple shots at the office of Congress legislator Balram Dangi in Haryana’s Meham town during the early hours of Saturday. The premises were vacant at the time of the incident, and no casualties have been reported.
The attack was discovered when staff members arrived in the morning and noticed broken glass panels at the entrance. Initial inspection revealed several bullet impact marks on the front facade, prompting an immediate response from local police.
Situated opposite the Meham Police Station, the office became the focus of a forensic examination as investigators collected evidence from the scene. Police have taken possession of the CCTV recording system and are analysing footage to trace the movement of the assailants.
Balram Dangi confirmed the incident, stating that he was informed after the office caretaker found signs of gunfire. He said he has not accused any individual or group and expressed confidence that the investigation would establish the facts behind the attack.
Officials believe the firing took place during the night when the office was locked, preventing any injuries or loss of life. Security personnel have intensified surveillance in the area while multiple teams work to identify those responsible.
The incident has sparked concern among local residents, particularly because the office is located in a prominent area of the town. Police have assured that all possible angles, including mischief, intimidation and targeted vandalism, are being examined as part of the ongoing probe.
