New Delhi (Rajeev Sharma): Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his appreciation for the response to a video message he shared late at night, saying the suggestions and feedback from young viewers have helped deepen his connection with them.
In a follow-up video posted on social media, Modi thanked those who watched his earlier message and responded to it. He said the interaction had provided an opportunity to engage directly with young people and expressed confidence that the relationship would continue to grow stronger.
The Prime Minister’s original video, posted close to midnight, quickly gained widespread attention online. The message reportedly attracted millions of views within minutes and crossed the million-like mark on Instagram shortly after its release, reflecting the high level of engagement it generated among social media users.
The late-night address focused largely on the issue of examination paper leaks. Modi announced that the Union Cabinet would take up a proposed law aimed at speeding up legal proceedings in such cases and introducing tougher punishment for those involved.
He described paper leaks as a serious matter that affects not only students but also their families, who invest significant time and effort in competitive examinations. The Prime Minister said the government was working to strengthen mechanisms to prevent such incidents and ensure strict action against those found responsible.
He also emphasised that following the controversy surrounding the NEET examination, the government’s immediate focus was on ensuring that students did not suffer the loss of an academic year.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister has reportedly asked members of his Council of Ministers to increase their activity on Instagram and other digital platforms. During a Cabinet meeting, he is said to have pointed out the popularity of Instagram among India’s younger population and encouraged ministers to use the platform more effectively to communicate with them.
The push for greater social media engagement reflects the growing importance of digital platforms in reaching younger audiences. With millions of Indians actively consuming content through social networks, the government is increasingly looking at these platforms as a direct channel for communication and public outreach.
