NTA Dismisses NEET-UG 2026 Retest Paper Leak Claims, Warns of Strict Action

New Delhi (Gurpreet Singh): The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Saturday rejected claims circulating on social media regarding an alleged leak or sale of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination question paper, describing them as false and fraudulent attempts to mislead students and parents.

In a statement issued on X, the agency said it had noticed several posts and messages on social media platforms and messaging applications claiming to offer leaked question papers, advance access to examination content or the sale of the upcoming NEET-UG retest paper.

NTA clarified that all such claims were fabricated and were being spread by organised cheating networks seeking to exploit the anxiety of students and their families.

“The National Testing Agency has noted certain messages circulating on social media and messaging platforms claiming a leak, advance access or sale of the NEET-UG 2026 re-examination question paper. These claims are false, fraudulent and intended to mislead,” the agency said.

According to NTA, such groups attempt to extort money by selling fake examination papers and creating panic among candidates preparing for one of the country’s most competitive entrance examinations.

The agency stressed that the integrity of the examination process remains intact and that comprehensive security measures have been put in place to ensure a fair and transparent examination for all candidates.

NTA said it is actively identifying the channels, accounts and individuals responsible for spreading misinformation and has reported the content to social media platforms and cybercrime authorities for immediate action.

The agency also announced that formal complaints are being filed with law-enforcement and cybercrime agencies. It warned that creating, circulating or forwarding fake examination-related material and attempting to defraud students are serious offences that can attract strict legal action.

“Strict action will be taken against those responsible,” the statement said.
Candidates and parents have been advised not to purchase, share or engage with any messages claiming to provide access to examination papers. NTA urged aspirants to rely only on information published through its official website and verified communication channels.

Reassuring students, the agency said candidates should remain focused on their preparation and avoid being distracted by rumours and misinformation.
“To every candidate appearing for NEET-UG 2026, focus on your preparation with confidence. Your hard work is what matters, and NTA remains committed to conducting a fair, secure and credible examination,” the statement added.

The NEET-UG examination for admission to undergraduate medical courses was originally conducted on May 3 but was cancelled by NTA on May 12 following allegations of a paper leak. The matter is currently under investigation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), while the re-examination has been scheduled for June 21.
