New Delhi Issues Urgent Travel Advisories For Indians In Iran and Israel Amid Fresh West Asia Escalation

ew Delhi (Gurpreet Singh): India on Monday issued urgent, updated security advisories for its citizens residing in or traveling to Iran and Israel, following a severe escalation of hostilities in West Asia. The Ministry of External Affairs has explicitly instructed Indian nationals to avoid all travel to Iran and strongly urged those currently inside the country to leave immediately, while advising the Indian diaspora in Israel to maintain extreme vigilance and restrict non-essential movement.

The Indian Embassy in Tehran released a formal statement reinforcing its previous travel restrictions, citing the highly volatile “latest developments in the region.” The diplomatic mission directed all Indian nationals presently in Iran to utilize any available commercial or transport means to exit the country without delay. This emergency directive follows a major military escalation between the two regional adversaries, marked by reports of retaliatory Israeli airstrikes hitting strategic targets across central and western Iran in response to recent missile salvos launched by Tehran.

Concurrently, the Indian Embassy in Tel Aviv issued a parallel security directive advising all Indian nationals living in Israel to exercise the utmost caution due to the highly unpredictable security environment. The embassy urged Indian citizens, including a significant population of tech professionals, students, and caregivers, to strictly adhere to safety protocols mandated by Israeli defense forces and the Home Front Command. Residents were instructed to identify and remain within close proximity to designated bomb shelters or protected spaces, minimize transit, and closely monitor local news portals, emergency sirens, and official government announcements. While New Delhi expressed deep concern over the collapsing security paradigm and reiterated calls for a diplomatic resolution to prevent an all-out regional war, the government stands ready to facilitate evacuation protocols for thousands of its citizens still remaining in the conflict zone.
