Minister Anil Vij Flags Off Free ‘Sangat Sewa’ and ‘Langar’ Vans in Ambala

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Transport and Energy Minister Anil Vij inaugurated two significant community service initiatives in Ambala Cantt on Sunday. Organized by the Sewa Simran Society of Gurudwara Regiment Bazaar, the Sangat Sewa Free Van and the Sri Guru Nanak Ki Rasoi Free Langar Sewa Van were flagged off from Capital Chowk to serve the local population and devotees.

The Sangat Sewa Van will provide free transportation for pilgrims traveling from Capital Chowk to the historic Gurudwara Sri Panjokhra Sahib and other local temples. Simultaneously, the Langar Sewa Van will distribute free meals to the needy at key locations, including the Civil Hospital, Railway Station, and Bus Stand. Minister Vij personally served langar to citizens during the launch and announced that the government would install a shed, benches, fans, and a water cooler at Capital Chowk to ensure comfort for those waiting for the van.

Service as the “Best Soap” for the Soul

Addressing the gathering, Minister Vij delivered an emotional speech on the philosophy of selfless service. He remarked that humans do not need soap or water to cleanse the mind; rather, “service is the best means to wash the body and soul.” He explained that service is a way to repay one’s debt to nature and society, adding that those who act to help others find sweetness and strength in their lives and speech. He commended the Sewa Simran Society for its consistent efforts in public welfare, stating that such initiatives bring immense pride to the city of Ambala.
