Kewal Singh Dhillon Takes Charge as Punjab BJP Chief, Pledges ‘Maharaja Ranjit Singh Model’ Governance

Gurpreet Singh :- Newly appointed Punjab BJP president Kewal Singh Dhillon formally assumed office on Wednesday at a function attended by senior party leaders and workers. The ceremony began with an ardas, following which Dhillon took charge in the presence of the party’s state and national leadership.

Soon after assuming office, Dhillon installed a portrait of Maharaja Ranjit Singh at the party’s state headquarters and said the BJP would work towards forming a government in Punjab in 2027 based on the ideals and governance model associated with the legendary Sikh ruler.

Addressing party workers, Dhillon expressed confidence about the BJP’s prospects in the state and said the party would strengthen its organisational base across Punjab in the run-up to the next Assembly elections. He emphasised the need to connect with people at the grassroots level and present the party as a viable political alternative.

The event witnessed the presence of several prominent BJP leaders, including Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, former Punjab BJP president Sunil Jakhar, party national vice-president Saudan Singh, national general secretary Tarun Chugh, national secretary Narendra Singh Raina, Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu and Punjab BJP Mahila Morcha president Jai Inder Kaur.

A large number of party workers and office-bearers also attended the programme, marking the formal beginning of Dhillon’s tenure as the head of the Punjab BJP unit.
