Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini celebrated the festival of Raksha Bandhan on Friday at Sant Kabir Kutir, hosting schoolgirls, representatives of social organizations, and prominent citizens. School students tied rakhis to the Chief Minister, who offered his blessings and wished them a bright future. His wife, Suman Saini, was also present during the festive gathering.
Extending warm greetings to the people of Haryana, the Chief Minister remarked that Raksha Bandhan symbolizes the sacred bond of mutual love, trust, and affection between brothers and sisters. He emphasized that the festival reinforces society’s collective responsibility toward ensuring the honour, safety, and empowerment of women and girls. Saini highlighted that the Haryana government remains dedicated to safeguarding women’s rights, ensuring their security, and creating equal opportunities for their advancement.
The Chief Minister described daughters as the core strength of society and the state, stating that a resilient community can only be built by guaranteeing them access to quality education, dignity, and a secure environment. He noted that cultural festivals like Raksha Bandhan play an important role in fostering social harmony, mutual goodwill, and brotherhood across communities.
Representatives from various civic and social welfare organizations also conveyed their greetings to the Chief Minister during the event. Expressing his gratitude, Saini commended social organizations for their active role in fostering a spirit of community service, collaboration, and social cohesion across Haryana.
