Chandigarh (Gurpreet Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini unfurled the national flag in Hansi on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day, paying tributes to freedom fighters and martyrs while calling on citizens to work toward the vision of a developed nation and state. During the celebrations, the Chief Minister felicitated Commonwealth Games silver medalist boxer Narendra Berwal and handed over employment guarantee certificates to local youth under the Service Security Act, highlighting Hansi’s recent elevation as the state’s twenty-third district alongside major upgrades to its administrative and healthcare infrastructure.
Highlighting administrative reforms, the Chief Minister underscored that transparent, merit-based governance has enabled over two lakh youths to secure government positions over the past twelve years, eliminating illicit middlemen and irregular practices. He noted that key commitments from the assembly election manifesto have been systematically fulfilled, supported by digital governance tools, progressive industrial frameworks, and skill-development initiatives aimed at attracting massive investments and expanding youth employment opportunities across sectors.
Detailing agricultural and social welfare initiatives, the Chief Minister stated that direct benefit transfers amounting to Rs 1.86 lakh crore have reached farmers through minimum support price procurement across twenty-four crops. On social security and women empowerment, the administration has expanded monthly allowances, provided direct financial assistance to roughly ten lakh women under the Deendayal Lado Lakshmi initiative, extended subsidized gas cylinders to fifteen lakh families, and reinforced rural and urban housing support for vulnerable households.
The Chief Minister also reviewed significant strides in sports, healthcare, industrial infrastructure, and transit connectivity. Emphasizing the state’s dominance in international sporting events such as the Commonwealth Games and the Olympic Games, he highlighted cash incentives, sports nurseries, and government job placements provided to medalists. The address concluded with an overview of expanded medical college networks, rural public amenities including library networks, modern industrial corridors, and the expansion of national highways and regional air links connecting Hisar to major national destinations.
