Haryana announces final day for senior citizen registration for free pilgrimage to Sri Hazur Sahib

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): The Haryana government has announced that today, May 10, serves as the final opportunity for senior citizens to register for a free pilgrimage to Takht Sachkhand Sri Hazur Sahib in Nanded, Maharashtra. Under the Mukh Mantri Teerth Yatra Yojana, a special train is scheduled to depart from Sirsa on May 15 to transport eligible residents to the historic spiritual site. This initiative is part of the state’s ongoing commitment to supporting the spiritual and social well-being of its elderly population by providing accessible travel opportunities to significant religious landmarks across the country.

To qualify for this complimentary journey, applicants must be at least 60 years of age and belong to a household with an annual family income of less than 1.8 lakh rupees. The registration process has been made accessible through the Saral Haryana portal, where eligible individuals can sign up using their smartphones or by visiting a nearby Common Service Centre. This digital approach ensures that the application process remains transparent and efficient for all participants, allowing for a broader reach across various districts.

Potential pilgrims are required to provide several essential documents to complete their applications, including a valid photo identification card and a Family Identity Card. Additionally, a certificate confirming physical fitness for travel is mandatory, along with a declaration stating that the applicant has not utilized this specific government scheme within the past three years. These measures are in place to ensure the safety of all travellers and to provide fair access to those who have not yet had the chance to participate in the programme.

Following the online application, it is crucial for candidates to report their details to the office of the District Information and Public Relations Officer in their respective regions. This step must be completed by May 11 to ensure that all necessary information is forwarded to the railway authorities in a timely manner. By coordinating closely with local administrative offices, the government aims to provide a well-organised and comfortable experience for all senior citizens embarking on this significant spiritual expedition.
