Calgary (Rajeev Sharma): The Gujarati Mandal of Calgary (GMofC) is set to make its 50th Golden Jubilee — 50 Years of Tradition, Community & Culture a major celebration of Gujarati heritage, with spectacular Garba Nights, live music and a vibrant food experience at the BMO Centre on September 18 and 19, 2026.
Adding a strong culinary highlight to the Golden Jubilee festivities, Honest, Gwalia and Choice Restaurant will play a prominent role in serving the Calgary community, bringing their Gujarati and Indian food offerings to the celebrations alongside other participating food vendors. Their involvement adds an important taste of Gujarati and Indian hospitality to an event built around community, culture and tradition.
The first major Garba night will feature Aditya Gadhvi LIVE on Friday, September 18, bringing his music and distinctive performance style to Calgary. The celebrations continue on Saturday, September 19, with Bhumik Shah LIVE, popularly known as the “Dakla King.” The two performers will headline the entertainment across the two special Golden Jubilee Garba Nights.
Gujarati Mandal of Calgary President Viral Gandhi shared details of the Golden Jubilee celebrations, highlighting the importance of bringing together Garba, music, food and community. Gandhi said the participation of Honest, Gwalia, Choice Restaurant and other food vendors will add another important dimension to the festivities, giving community members an opportunity to enjoy Gujarati and Indian food while celebrating Navratri with family and friends.
