Calgary (Rajeev Sharma): The Devi Hindu Women Association is preparing to host its Durga Puja Celebration 2026 on Friday, October 16, bringing women and children together for an evening of devotion, culture, friendship and community connection. Shailley Saraswat shared the event information with National Times.
The event will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. at Park Hill Community Association, 4013 Stanley Rd SW, Calgary, with a special Kids Garbha session from 5 to 6 p.m. for children ages 6 to 16. Children under six can participate free of charge.
The program will feature Mahishasur Mardini Stotram recitation, cultural performances, Bhajan Antakshri, games, Kids Garbha and Prasad. A special Festive Haat will also be part of the celebration.
Organizers said the women-and-children-focused gathering aims to strengthen community connections while encouraging younger generations to participate in and carry forward Indian cultural traditions. Tickets are $15 per person, with limited participation. The dress code is red and white, including sarees, suits or lehengas.
