New Delhi (Gurpreet Singh): The Delhi Police has officially clarified that no permission has been granted or sought for a proposed march to the Parliament by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP). The march was scheduled for Monday, coinciding with the commencement of the Parliament’s monsoon session. Authorities have explicitly stated that strict security measures are currently in place across the New Delhi district to maintain public safety, secure protectees, and safeguard vital government installations during the legislative session.
In an official statement, New Delhi Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sachin Sharma emphasized that prohibitory orders under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS), which replaces the erstwhile Section 144 of the CrPC, are actively enforced throughout the district. Under these legal provisions, the assembly of five or more individuals, demonstrations, and unauthorized protest marches are strictly banned. The only exception to this rule is the designated protest site at Jantar Mantar, which still requires formal prior permission from the authorities.
The law enforcement agency has warned that any individual found violating these prohibitory orders will face immediate prosecution under Section 223 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) along with other relevant legal provisions. The Delhi Police has urged citizens to strictly abide by the law, avoid participating in any unauthorized gatherings or processions, and cooperate with security personnel to ensure public peace and order remain undisturbed.
