Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday, April 24, 2026, held a high-level review meeting via video conferencing with Deputy Commissioners and Superintendents of Police to finalize arrangements for the upcoming NEET (UG) examination. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is scheduled to conduct the exam on May 3, 2026. The Chief Minister issued strict directives to ensure that the examination is held in a peaceful, fair, and transparent manner, emphasizing that no negligence will be tolerated in maintaining the integrity of the process.

Across Haryana, 175 examination centres have been established for 65,300 candidates. The Chief Minister instructed officials to provide all basic amenities at these centres, including drinking water, electricity, and clean toilets. He specifically directed the police to manage traffic effectively so that candidates reach their centres on time and to keep a strict vigil on social media to prevent the spread of rumours or misinformation. CM Saini also reviewed the preparedness for the HCS and Allied Services examinations to be held by the Haryana Public Service Commission on April 26.

Director of NTA, Abhishek Singh, informed the meeting that security and verification measures have been significantly bolstered. Biometric verification counters have been doubled to prevent delays, with one counter per 100 candidates and a biometric device for every 48 students. High-tech equipment, including CCTV cameras and jammers, will be operational at all sites by April 30. The NEET (UG) exam will take place in offline mode from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with entry permitted between 11:00 AM and 1:30 PM. To further assist candidates, the Chief Minister noted that the ‘Dial 112’ service could be utilized in emergencies to ensure students reach their venues on time.
