Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Addressing a state-level event held at the Indradhanush Auditorium in Panchkula on International Youth Day, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini emphasized that the country’s youth are the primary driving force behind realizing the vision of a developed India and a developed Haryana by 2047. On the occasion, the Chief Minister officially launched a state-wide HIV-AIDS awareness campaign, which will run across Haryana until October 12. During the event, Kurukshetra and Kaithal districts were felicitated for being included in the national list of fifteen safe districts, with the Chief Minister highlighting that fighting health stigmas requires correct information, empathy, and social sensitivity rather than discrimination.
Underscoring the importance of physical health, discipline, and skill development, the Chief Minister urged young citizens to stay away from substance abuse and focus on acquiring modern technical capabilities. He detailed that Haryana is upgrading its Industrial Training Institutes at an investment of nearly 3,000 crore rupees, establishing direct partnerships with industrial entities to align vocational training with actual market demands. Highlighting economic self-reliance, Saini outlined the Haryana Progressive MSME and Export Promotion Policy 2026, which aims to attract over 55,000 crore rupees in investments, generate 5 lakh new jobs, and double state exports over the next five years, alongside establishing ten new Industrial Model Townships across the state.
The Chief Minister also commended the achievements of Haryana’s athletes on the international stage, noting their significant contribution to India’s medal tally at the recent Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. He reiterated the state government’s commitment to sports infrastructure through 2,000 active sports nurseries training over 40,000 young athletes, supported by direct employment opportunities and cash awards totaling 683 crore rupees distributed over the past decade. Minister of State for Sports and Youth Empowerment Gaurav Gautam also addressed the gathering, praising the entrepreneurial spirit and sporting prowess of Haryana’s youth.
