On Thursday, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) issued a show cause notice to both Air India and SpiceJet concerning their assignment of non-CAT III compliant pilots during periods of low visibility at Delhi airport. The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB), as part of its anti-corruption drive in the state, has initiated legal action against two sarpanches and two panchayat secretaries for alleged misappropriation of funds in village development projects. According to a VB spokesperson, Sarabjit Singh, the former sarpanch of Alal village in Sangrur district, and Naresh Kumar Singla, a retired panchayat secretary, are accused of embezzling Rs. 2,00,927 from panchayat funds and construction-related materials.
