Arvind Kejriwal To Join Jantar Mantar ‘Vote-Chori’ Protest With Family; AAP Demands Gyanesh Kumar’s Resignation

New Delhi (Gurpreet Singh): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal will join the protest against ‘Vote-Chori’ (vote theft) and in defence of democracy at Jantar Mantar on Saturday, alongside the CJP and young people from across the country. Confirming his participation, he shared that he would be joined by his entire family in the fight to protect democracy, as he called on people to gather in large numbers to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

The AAP Chief revealed that genuine votes of people who do not vote for the BJP are being deleted openly, while fake votes are being added under Gyanesh Kumar’s leadership. He appealed to citizens across the country to reach Jantar Mantar in large numbers and raise their voice against ‘Vote-Chori’.

During a media interaction, AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal stated, “The BJP government at the Centre is playing with our democracy. Votes are being deleted on a massive scale. The votes of people who do not vote for the BJP are being deleted, while fake votes are being added. All this was happening openly under the leadership of Gyanesh Kumar.”

He asserted, “That is why the entire country is demanding Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation. I appeal to everyone in the country to reach Jantar Mantar in the largest possible numbers. This is not about any one individual or political party; this is about the country. The protest at Jantar Mantar begins on Saturday. I will be there, and my entire family will join me. Everyone should come there.”

Meanwhile, AAP Delhi State President Saurabh Bharadwaj stated that, ahead of the protest scheduled for 10 October at Jantar Mantar, information was being sought from AAP ‘karyakartas’. He explained, “AAP ‘karyakartas’ are receiving phone calls from the police. They are being asked when they will attend the protest at Jantar Mantar, who will accompany them, how they will reach Jantar Mantar, and other related details.”

He told the Delhi Police that, instead of taking away the democratic rights of ordinary citizens, the police should focus on doing its job.

Saurabh Bharadwaj further stated, “A large number of supporters will join the protest at Jantar Mantar, alongside Aam Aadmi Party MLAs, councillors, office-bearers and ‘karyakartas’. The police are making every possible attempt to prevent our ‘karyakartas’ from attending the protest. ‘karyakartas’ are being detained and intimidated. Despite this, their morale remains high. This is a fight to save the country. Every citizen of the country should join this fight to protect their right to vote.”

Meanwhile, AAP National Media In-charge Anurag Dhanda strongly reacted to the Delhi Police’s request to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) to keep 57 metro stations in Delhi closed on Saturday. In a post on X, he wrote, “The courts are silent. Those in power have become unrestrained. The people, however, are determined. They stand tall and unflinching before the dictator.”

Anurag Dhanda further stated, “In defence of democracy, Arvind Kejriwal will also take to the streets on Saturday. He is heading to Jantar Mantar on Saturday. Stop him if you can. Dictator Modi, it is time to pick up your ‘jhola’ (bag) and leave.”
