AAP Sweeps Punjab Civic Polls; Senior Leadership Celebrates Groundswell of Urban Support

Chandigarh (Gurpreet Singh): The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab celebrated a sweeping victory in the municipal corporation and municipal council elections across the state, with party leaders describing the results as a resounding endorsement of the welfare-oriented governance and development agenda of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Government led by CM Bhagwant Singh Mann. Jubilant scenes were witnessed at the party’s Punjab headquarters as leaders, karyakartas and supporters gathered to celebrate the historic mandate received from the people.

As election trends began favouring AAP from the morning itself, party karyakartas started arriving at the party office in large numbers. The atmosphere turned festive as workers danced to the beats of dhol, distributed laddoos and congratulated one another on the party’s impressive performance across Punjab.

AAP Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia, Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema, MLA Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal and Punjab Media In-charge Baltej Pannu were present during the celebrations. Several senior leaders, MLAs and office-bearers also joined the victory gathering.

The leaders thanked the people of Punjab for their overwhelming support and stated that the results reflected the public’s confidence in the policies and development works undertaken by the Punjab Government. They said that with AAP now receiving the mandate in municipal bodies as well, the pace of urban development across Punjab would accelerate further.

Addressing party karyakartas and supporters, AAP Punjab Prabhari Manish Sisodia expressed gratitude to the people of the state and said, “I thank the people of Punjab for these results. The people of Punjab have given a very strong message today. They have showered immense respect, blessings and support on Arvind Kejriwal and CM Bhagwant Singh Mann.”

He added, “The people have made it clear that they appreciate Arvind Kejriwal’s model of honest politics and the way CM Bhagwant Singh Mann is working for the welfare and development of Punjab.”

Recalling the party’s earlier success in local body elections, Manish Sisodia said, “Some time ago, when district panchayat elections were held in Punjab, the people in villages gave a one-sided victory to the Aam Aadmi Party. Now, in the municipal corporation and municipal council elections, especially the people living in cities have also sent a clear message that they are satisfied with and appreciate the public welfare works being carried out by our government.”

Highlighting the achievements of the Punjab Government, Manish Sisodia said, “The revolutionary steps taken by the Bhagwant Mann Government in the fields of electricity, water, employment, education and healthcare have now received the people’s stamp of approval.”

He said the election results had delivered two clear messages. “The first message is that the people of Punjab have extended their support to the development works being undertaken by CM Bhagwant Singh Mann. The second message is directed at the BJP and its politics of vendetta. The aware and conscious voters of Punjab have shown that there is no place on Punjab’s soil for such politics. The people rejected the BJP so decisively in these elections that 1,142 of its candidates even lost their deposits.”

Looking ahead to the 2027 Assembly elections, Manish Sisodia said, “Our party and CM Bhagwant Singh Mann are working with complete dedication, commitment and honesty to secure a historic mandate in the 2027 Assembly elections. Although there is still time left for those elections, all the newly elected mayors and councillors who have won these municipal corporation and council elections will strengthen Mann Sahib’s hands at the grassroots level.”

TheAAP Punjab Prabhari affirmed, “Together, we will further accelerate the pace of Punjab’s development, strengthen governance at every level and once again hoist the flag of victory in Punjab in 2027.”
