Diljit Dosanjh Delhi Concert: Metro Services Extended Till Midnight on October 30, Check Nearest Station and Traffic Advisory

New Delhi (Gurpreet Singh): The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has extended train services until midnight on October 30 to help spectators attending Diljit Dosanjh’s concert at Jawaharlal Nehru (JLN) Stadium in Delhi. The concert is part of the singer’s Aura India Tour 2026 and is expected to attract around 70,000 people.

The special arrangements are aimed at managing the expected rush and helping concertgoers return home after the performance. Metro services will be extended on all eligible lines, except the Airport Express Line and Rapid Metro in Gurugram. DMRC will also operate additional train trips and keep standby trains ready to handle passenger demand.

The move follows Diljit’s appeal to fans to avoid private vehicles because of limited parking near the venue and anticipated traffic restrictions around the stadium.

Delhi Metro Timings for Diljit Dosanjh’s Concert

According to the announced arrangements, Metro services on eligible lines will continue until midnight on Friday, October 30. DMRC has also planned additional trips to facilitate the dispersal of spectators after the concert.

The special arrangements include:

  • Extended Metro services: Operations on all lines except the Airport Express Line and Rapid Metro, Gurugram, will be extended until midnight.
  • Additional train trips: Extra services will be operated to manage the expected passenger rush.
  • Standby trains: Additional trains will be kept ready for deployment if demand increases.
  • Extended QR ticket window: The QR ticket purchase window on the Delhi Metro Sarthi mobile application will be extended by one hour.

Passengers should check the latest DMRC updates and the last-train timings for their specific routes, especially if their journeys involve interchange stations or travel beyond Delhi.

Which Is the Nearest Metro Station to JLN Stadium?

JLN Stadium Metro Station on the Violet Line is the nearest station to the concert venue. The line connects Kashmere Gate in Delhi with Raja Nahar Singh in Ballabhgarh, Haryana.

The station is expected to witness heavy footfall before and after the concert. DMRC has planned additional staff, customer service personnel and Customer Facilitation Agents at JLN Stadium and key interchange stations to guide passengers and regulate crowd movement.

Additional security personnel, Door Frame Metal Detectors and enhanced screening arrangements will also be deployed at JLN Stadium Metro Station.

Concertgoers are advised to allow extra time for security checks, queues and movement between the station and the venue. Using the Metro could also help reduce dependence on private vehicles amid restrictions around the stadium.

Delhi Traffic Restrictions on October 30

The Delhi Traffic Police has announced restrictions and diversions around JLN Stadium from 1 pm until midnight on October 30. Regular commuters and concertgoers have been advised to plan their journeys in advance and avoid affected roads wherever possible.

The roads and stretches covered by the advisory include parts of Bhishm Pitamah Marg, Lodhi Road and Lala Lajpat Rai Marg, including the stretch between Defence Colony Flyover and Lodhi Colony Flyover. Restrictions are also expected on Arch Bishop Marg, Fourth Avenue Road and Fifth Avenue Road.

Internal roads in the CGO Complex and Lodhi Colony, roads around the stadium, Dayal Singh College Road and a stretch of the Barapullah Flyover between the INA side and Jangpura Metro Station Gate No. 2 are also covered by the advisory.

Motorists travelling through south Delhi during the affected hours should expect possible delays and follow directions issued by traffic personnel.

Diljit Dosanjh Asks Fans to Avoid Private Cars

Ahead of the Delhi concert, Diljit Dosanjh urged fans to use the Metro instead of travelling in their own vehicles. He cited limited parking facilities near JLN Stadium and referred to the guidance issued by the Delhi Police.

The singer also pointed to the Metro station’s proximity to the venue and the extended operating hours as reasons for concertgoers to consider public transport.

With a large crowd expected and traffic restrictions in place, fans are advised to plan both their onward and return journeys. Checking Metro timings, allowing time for security screening and following official traffic and transport updates can help make travel to and from the concert more convenient.
