Calgary (Rajeev Sharma): Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors Minister Devin Dreeshen is set to visit Washington, D.C., from October 21 to 24 to discuss cross-border transportation safety, infrastructure investment and trade connectivity with U.S. officials.
The visit aims to strengthen cooperation between Alberta and the United States on key transportation issues affecting the movement of people and goods across North America.
According to the Alberta government, discussions will focus on improving commercial trucking safety standards, maintaining U.S. customs and immigration pre-clearance services at Alberta airports, and advancing investment in transportation infrastructure.
Dreeshen is expected to meet with representatives of the American Association of Motor Vehicle Administrators, along with U.S. transportation officials and other industry stakeholders, to discuss shared priorities.
Highlighting the importance of reliable transportation links, Dreeshen said Alberta’s transportation network plays a vital role in connecting businesses with markets throughout North America.
The minister added that the provincial government would continue working to improve transportation safety, strengthen economic corridors and ensure the dependable movement of goods and passengers.
