Chandigarh (Gurpreet Singh): Haryana Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh is driving an aggressive international outreach strategy to attract major global manufacturing units across every district of the state, aiming to decentralize industrial growth beyond traditional hubs like Gurugram and generate localized employment for regional youth. Working in close coordination with Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, the state leadership is working to position Haryana as a prime destination for foreign direct investment.
A central element of this industrial blueprint is the planned development of 10 new Industrial Model Townships (IMTs) spread across the state. The initiative aims to build a wide-ranging manufacturing base that creates substantial job opportunities closer to home for young job-seekers. To pitch the state directly to global industrial conglomerates, Minister Rao Narbir Singh has been coordinating international investment delegations alongside Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
The state’s outreach has already yielded significant commitments following recent delegations to Japan and Singapore. The visits generated proposed investments of approximately ₹3,900 crore from Japan and nearly ₹5,500 crore from Singapore. During discussions in Singapore, the delegation also engaged with prominent entrepreneurs of Haryana and Punjab origin, urging the diaspora business community to set up production facilities and participate actively in economic expansion in their home state.
Continuing this global outreach, the minister is slated to lead an official delegation to the Republic of Korea from October 19 to 22. The mission will concentrate on tapping into South Korea’s industrial strengths, particularly in high-tech manufacturing, advanced engineering, and electronics, while exploring direct joint ventures with Korean corporations.
Rao Narbir Singh reiterated that the overarching objective of this outreach is to translate capital inflows into tangible employment for the state’s workforce. He noted that the government remains fully committed under Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini to expanding industrial capacity across all districts so that youth can secure meaningful employment opportunities within the state.
