Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): The Haryana government has sanctioned 114 crore rupees for the comprehensive strengthening and modernization of sports stadiums across the state, Minister of State for Sports Gaurav Gautam announced on Friday. Speaking in Jind, Gautam stated that the state administration is committed to securing a bright future for athletes by upgrading foundational infrastructure, with the Public Works Department (Buildings and Roads) spearheading the necessary renovations and structural enhancements across various sports complexes.
The announcement came during a meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievance Redressal Committee at the DRDA auditorium in Jind, presided over by the minister. During the session, Gautam addressed 13 public grievances across different administrative departments, resolving 11 complaints on the spot. He issued strict instructions to departmental officers regarding the remaining matters, directing them to follow established administrative protocols and resolve the pending disputes within defined time limits.
Gautam emphasized that the state government’s core priority is to provide budding athletes with modern athletic facilities and equitable platforms to hone their potential. He noted that multiple welfare programs and sports policies are being actively implemented to ensure rural and urban sporting talent can thrive at national and international levels. He highlighted that district redressal committees serve as a vital mechanism for transparent, rapid, and citizen-centric governance, enabling residents to raise administrative bottlenecks directly before authorities.
Urging departmental officials to approach public grievances with sensitivity, accountability, and speed, the minister stressed that citizens should not face unnecessary visits to administrative offices for standard services. He directed departments to submit detailed status reports on pending cases prior to the next committee assembly, noting that swift dispute resolution strengthens public trust in state machinery. Senior officials present at the session included Jind Deputy Commissioner Dr. Vaishali Sharma, Superintendent of Police Kuldeep Singh, Social Welfare Board Chairman Captain Yogesh Bairagi, and sub-divisional magistrates from across the district.
