New Delhi (Gurpreet Singh) — The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced a peaceful youth protest march in the national capital on September 5, accusing the Union government of failing to honour commitments made to students and protesters on July 25. The demonstration, scheduled to coincide with Teachers’ Day, will begin at India Gate and proceed towards the Delhi Police Headquarters.
The decision was finalized during a meeting of the CJP National Working Committee on Monday to review the status of the agreement that led to the withdrawal of the group’s 37-day agitation at Jantar Mantar. The organisation stated that the forthcoming march will be led by the families of NEET aspirants who died following the examination controversy, alongside individuals who were subjected to alleged police action during earlier protests.
In an official statement, the CJP alleged that the Centre has delayed action on key assurances, including the quashing of First Information Reports (FIRs) filed against student demonstrators and the provision of promised written guarantees. The outfit highlighted recent Supreme Court proceedings from August 18, where the court sought a consolidated list of cases to consider quashing them collectively, noting that the government has yet to demonstrate clear progress on the matter.
Criticizing the administrative delays, the group stated that young protesters had called off their nationwide movement in good faith and warned that their patience should not be mistaken for weakness. The CJP has appealed to student unions, youth organisations, and citizens across the country to join the September 5 march in large numbers while maintaining peace throughout the demonstration.
