New Delhi (Gurpreet Singh) — Three absconding gangsters linked to the Davinder Bambiha syndicate have been apprehended in Malaysia and deported to India, Union Home Minister Amit Shah announced on Monday. The accused, identified as Jaspreet Singh alias Jas Behbal, Ajay Singh, and Pawandeep Singh, were taken into custody by Punjab Police at Indira Gandhi International Airport upon their arrival and remanded for further investigation.
According to officials, the three operatives face multiple charges, including extortion, cross-border arms and narcotics smuggling, and an attempted hand-grenade attack in Ludhiana. In a statement shared on X, Amit Shah noted that Indian law enforcement and intelligence agencies have facilitated the deportation of 51 hardened criminals in 2026 alone as part of sustained international operations against organized crime.
The successful deportation follows a coordinated, months-long intelligence operation conducted by the Overseas Fugitive Tracking and Extradition Cell (OFTEC) of the Punjab Police Counter Intelligence wing alongside central security agencies and Malaysian authorities. Police reports indicate that Jaspreet Singh, who moved to Malaysia in June 2019, was formally arrested in connection with a 2025 murder case. Meanwhile, Ajay Singh and Pawandeep Singh are accused of directing associates to execute the foiled grenade attack in Ludhiana, where law enforcement recovered a Chinese P86 grenade in October 2025.
