Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Flags Off First Freight Train From Nangal Chaudhary Logistics Hub

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday flagged off the first freight train from the newly constructed rail yard at the Integrated Multi-Modal Logistics Hub (IMLH) in Nangal Chaudhary, Mahendragarh district.

The railway connectivity, developed at a cost of around Rs 280 crore, is expected to strengthen Haryana’s logistics infrastructure and improve freight movement between the National Capital Region (NCR) and ports on India’s western coast.

Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Narnaul MLA Om Prakash Yadav and Mahendragarh MLA Kanwar Singh Yadav were present at the event.

Rs 1,300 Crore Logistics Hub Being Developed Over 408 Acres In First Phase

Speaking at the programme, Saini described the launch of rail operations as an important step towards positioning Haryana among the country’s major logistics networks.

The first phase of the Integrated Multi-Modal Logistics Hub is being developed over nearly 408 acres, with the overall project estimated to cost around Rs 1,300 crore.

According to the state government, the project is among the country’s top 50 major infrastructure projects.

Once fully operational, the facility is expected to have the capacity to handle around 20 lakh containers annually.

The government expects industries including automobiles, machinery, garments and agricultural products to benefit from the logistics infrastructure.

NCR To Get Direct Freight Connectivity With Western Ports

One of the project’s key features is the integration of rail and road connectivity at Nangal Chaudhary.

Saini said the infrastructure would make the movement of goods between the NCR and western ports faster, easier and more cost-effective. Improved freight connectivity is also expected to help businesses transport goods to domestic and international markets more efficiently.

The Chief Minister said the government had already developed essential infrastructure, including electricity, water and road connectivity, in the surrounding area.

Project Expected To Create Jobs And Attract Investment

Saini said the logistics hub would open new avenues for industrial development, employment and business activity across Mahendragarh and adjoining areas.

He also invited industrialists and investors to participate in Haryana’s industrial expansion through the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model.

The state government is positioning the Nangal Chaudhary project as a major logistics and industrial node that could attract new businesses due to its connectivity with both road and freight rail networks.

The launch comes as Haryana seeks to expand its logistics infrastructure and improve connectivity between industrial clusters, the NCR and major ports.

Haryana Govt, HSIIDC And DFCCIL Jointly Organise Event

The state-level programme was jointly organised by the Haryana government’s Industries and Commerce Department, the Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) and the Dedicated Freight Corridor Corporation of India Limited (DFCCIL), a Ministry of Railways undertaking.

Former minister Dr Abhe Singh Yadav, HSIIDC Managing Director Sushil Sarwan, Manish Awasthi, Jitendra Srivastava, Vivek Tyagi and other officials and dignitaries were also present.
