Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday said Nangal Chaudhary and its surrounding region are poised to emerge as a major economic hub of the country, driven by improved connectivity, industrial investment and the Integrated Multi-Modal Logistics Hub.
Speaking to reporters after the inauguration of the rail connectivity of the Integrated Multi-Modal Logistics Hub (IMLH) at Nangal Chaudhary, Saini said the project was taking concrete shape in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a developed India.
The Chief Minister also credited former Haryana CM Manohar Lal for laying the groundwork for the project.
Logistics Hub Expected To Generate Employment For Local Youth
Saini said several major private-sector investors have shown interest in the project, which is expected to create employment opportunities for young people in Nangal Chaudhary and adjoining areas.
He said the development of the logistics hub, coupled with better road and rail connectivity, could attract industries and boost economic activity across southern Haryana.
Industries and Commerce Minister Rao Narbir Singh, Narnaul MLA Om Prakash Yadav and Mahendragarh MLA Kanwar Singh Yadav were also present on the occasion.
Haryana Districts Now Connected Through Expressways: Saini
Highlighting infrastructure development in Haryana, Saini said travelling from Chandigarh to Nangal Chaudhary used to take around 10 hours before 2014. The journey time, he said, has been significantly reduced following the development of modern expressways.
The Chief Minister claimed that every district in Haryana is now directly connected through four-lane roads and greenfield expressway corridors.
Saini said the government’s approach has been to establish strong transport infrastructure before attracting industries, allowing businesses to move goods faster and more efficiently.
Project To Improve Connectivity With Mumbai Port
According to the Chief Minister, farmers, traders and industrial units in Mahendragarh, Rewari and neighbouring areas will benefit from improved logistics connectivity.
He said products from the region would be able to reach global markets faster through connectivity with Mumbai’s ports, potentially reducing transportation time and improving access to export markets.
Saini added that the project would benefit not only Haryana but also neighbouring Rajasthan and could become an important driver of economic activity in the region.
CM Saini Targets Opposition
Taking a swipe at the opposition, the Chief Minister said people would no longer be misled by what he described as false claims and political narratives.
He said the country was moving ahead on the path of development under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and claimed that the Nangal Chaudhary region remained an important part of the government’s development priorities.
Referring to education and healthcare infrastructure, Saini said the Maharishi Chyawan Medical College at Koriyawas has also become operational following a long-standing demand from the region. MBBS classes are currently being conducted at the institution, he added.
The Chief Minister said continued investment in transport, healthcare, education and industrial infrastructure would help transform the region into a new centre of economic growth and employment.
