Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Development and Panchayats Minister Krishan Lal Panwar on Sunday said the teachings of Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Ji have guided humanity for centuries by promoting equality, social harmony and brotherhood.
The Cabinet Minister was addressing a Kalash Vandan Yatra organised at Mathana village in Kurukshetra, where he also installed a Kalash at the Sant Shiromani Guru Ravidas Temple.
Panwar said Guru Ravidas Ji envisioned a society where there was no place for sorrow, injustice or discrimination. He said the governments at the Centre and in Haryana were working towards social harmony and welfare under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini.
Rs 124 Crore Guru Ravidas Dham To Come Up In Kurukshetra
Panwar announced that a grand Guru Ravidas Dham will be constructed on nearly five acres of land at Umri in Kurukshetra to spread the teachings of Guru Ravidas Ji and promote social harmony.
According to the minister, the project will be developed at a cost of around Rs 124 crore and the tender process has already been completed. Construction work is expected to begin soon.
The proposed complex will also feature a 125-foot-tall statue of Guru Ravidas Ji.
Kalash Yatra Carrying Soil From Guru Ravidas Ji’s Birthplace
The minister said the ‘Samrasta Sankalp Abhiyan’ has been launched across the country to mark the 650th birth anniversary of Guru Ravidas Ji.
As part of the campaign, a sacred Kalash Yatra began on July 29 carrying soil from Guru Ravidas Ji’s birthplace in Kashi. Panwar said the Yatra would travel across villages and households in Haryana while spreading the message of social awareness, national unity and human dignity.
Haryana Govt Working For Welfare Of All Sections: Panwar
Panwar said the Haryana government was working to ensure that the benefits of welfare schemes reach people across different sections of society.
Referring to the state government’s ‘Bina Kharchi-Bina Parchi’ recruitment policy, the minister claimed that more than two lakh youngsters had secured government jobs on the basis of merit over the past 12 years.
He also highlighted the formation of the Haryana State Scheduled Castes Commission, saying it was established to protect the rights and interests of the Scheduled Caste community.
The minister urged people to take the teachings of saints and social reformers to every section of society while strengthening brotherhood and communal harmony.
“A united and aware society is the foundation for building a strong Haryana,” Panwar said.
Kailash Saini from the Chief Minister’s Office, Ramesh Saini, Chairman Satish Mathana and other dignitaries were present at the programme.
