New Delhi (Rajeev Sharma): A complaint concerning an alleged disturbance during the rendition of ‘Vande Mataram’ at the Congress Independence Day programme is currently being looked into by the Delhi Police.
The incident is said to have occurred during the August 15 celebrations organised at the All India Congress Committee (AICC) headquarters in the national capital.
Advocate Shubh Sharma approached the IP Estate Police Station with a complaint naming Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi. The complaint alleges that the singing of the national song was deliberately interrupted or disturbed during the function.
The complainant has requested police action over the alleged conduct and has sought appropriate legal proceedings in connection with the incident.
Delhi Police has confirmed that the complaint is being enquired into. The inquiry will examine the allegations and the circumstances surrounding the programme before any further action is considered.
