Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini declared on Sunday that if the Bharatiya Janata Party is elected to power in Punjab, it will take strict measures to expel drug traffickers from the state and rehabilitate youths trapped in addiction. Speaking to reporters at Rampura in Amritsar, the Chief Minister asserted that a BJP administration would eliminate lawlessness and establish clean, transparent governance across the state.
Criticizing the ruling Aam Aadmi Party government over what he termed as unfulfilled electoral pledges, Saini alleged that despite promising an honest administration during assembly campaigns, the current regime has surpassed previous administrations in corruption. He raised questions regarding unexplained cash controversies and argued that the state’s hardworking youth have been deceived, claiming that public employment opportunities are being disproportionately handed to associates and relatives of ruling party lawmakers and ministers.
The Chief Minister also referenced recent recruitment lists issued by the health department, pointing out that the state government itself had to admit procedural lapses before the judiciary. He remarked that widespread dissatisfaction has spread across multiple sectors, noting that government employees continue to face delayed salary disbursements and the withholding of Dearness Allowance arrears despite explicit court directives.
Highlighting the contrasting governance model in Haryana, Saini questioned the state government on the pace of public infrastructure and medical education expansion, contrasting Punjab’s record with Haryana’s ongoing initiative to establish medical colleges in every district. He expressed confidence that the electorate in Punjab will place their faith in the policies of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in upcoming assembly polls, pledging that all public welfare schemes implemented in Haryana will be introduced in Punjab.
