Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao announced on Friday that the state is significantly strengthening its commitment to the ‘TB Mukt Bharat’ mission by actively involving Members of Parliament and Members of the Legislative Assembly in the statewide tuberculosis elimination drive. Reaffirming the health department’s resolve on the occasion of the nation’s 80th Independence Day, the minister stated that a coordinated, community-led framework has been established to transform the medical initiative into a mass movement across every district.
Given their close connection with local communities, MPs and MLAs across all districts have been appointed as district-level chairpersons for the TB Mukt Bharat campaign. Minister Rao explained that these elected representatives will play a pivotal role in raising public awareness, dismantling social stigma, motivating citizens to seek timely diagnosis, and ensuring effective oversight and execution of TB-related healthcare services at the grassroots level.
Under the National Tuberculosis Elimination Programme (NTEP), Haryana has made notable strides in case detection, advanced diagnostic infrastructure, and treatment outcomes. The involvement of public representatives aims to unite the health department, local administrative bodies, civil society groups, and citizens onto a shared platform to ensure that early screening and full treatment protocols reach all sections of society.
To operationalize the campaign, the state released the complete list of district chairpersons across all 23 districts and administrative units. The leadership appointments include MP Rekha Sharma and MLA Shalley Chaudhary in Ambala, MLA Ghanshyam Saraf and MLA Kapoor Singh in Bhiwani, MLA Sunil Satpal Sangwan and MLA Umed Singh in Charkhi Dadri, and MLAs Mool Chand Sharma, Satish Kumar Fagna, and Dhanesh Adlakha in Faridabad. Similar joint responsibilities have been assigned across the state, including MP Naveen Jindal in Kurukshetra, MP Sanjay Bhatia and MLA Mohammad Ilyas in Nuh, MP Kartikeya Sharma and MLA Jarnail Singh in Fatehabad, MP Dharambir Singh in Rohtak, and MP Subhash Barala in Sirsa, alongside local legislators in Gurugram, Hisar, Karnal, Sonipat, and other regions, ensuring comprehensive supervision and community engagement across the state.
