Indian Navy UAV Drishti-10 Crashes During Training Sortie Near Porbandar

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): An unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) belonging to the Indian Navy crashed into an open field during a routine training sortie near Porbandar city on Wednesday afternoon. The remote-controlled aircraft went down shortly after taking off from a local naval air enclave, though authorities confirmed that the incident resulted in zero casualties on the ground.

Porbandar District Collector S D Dhanani reported that the UAV crash-landed in an open field located in Dharampur village, which sits approximately six kilometres from the coastal city within the Saurashtra region. Following the impact, naval personnel quickly secured the crash site to initiate a thorough investigation. The precise cause of the technical failure or operational mishap remains under investigation by military authorities.

Later in the evening, the Indian Navy issued an official statement via its X handle, identifying the downed aircraft as the Drishti-10 uncrewed aerial vehicle. The naval command reiterated that no injuries or losses of life occurred due to the crash off the Porbandar airfield. Naval investigators are currently working to analyze the telemetry and flight data to determine what triggered the crash.
