Wiping Out Drug Menace: Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Targets Punjab Governance at Saint Kabir Event in Ludhiana

Ludhiana (Balwinder Singh): Launching a direct political offensive against the ruling dispensation in Punjab, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Sunday declared that the growing drug menace has become the biggest crisis plaguing the state, leaving homes devastated and stripping mothers of their children. Addressing a massive state-level convention organized by the Dhanak community to mark the 628th Prakat Diwas (Manifestation Day) of Saint Kabir Das in Ludhiana, the Chief Minister asserted that the day a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government is formed in Punjab, drug peddlers will be forced to flee the state immediately.

Extending his greetings on the auspicious occasion, the Chief Minister announced a financial grant of eleven lakh rupees for the construction of a dedicated Saint Kabir Bhawan in Ludhiana to preserve the saint’s spiritual legacy. Saini stated that Saint Kabir Das acted as a transformative force of harmony, equality, and humanity at a time when society was deeply submerged in superstition, untouchability, and rigid orthodoxy. Noting that the saint’s revolutionary verses find an exalted space within the holy Guru Granth Sahib, Saini highlighted that the Haryana government is actively bringing his teachings to life by celebrating official saint festivals across every district.

Contrasting governance models, the Chief Minister accused the Punjab government of misleading the public with false promises, half of which remain unfulfilled, while overseeing a deteriorating law and order situation. Saini detailed that the welfare principles of Saint Kabir and Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya drive the BJP’s policies, citing Haryana’s success in handing over physical possession of one-hundred-square-yard plots to twenty thousand poor families who were previously given mere paperwork during the Congress regime. He highlighted major ongoing welfare schemes, including the urban allotment of residential flats in Sonipat, Gurugram, and Faridabad, the financial disbursement of twenty-one hundred rupees under the Lado Lakshmi Yojana, five-hundred-rupee subsidized gas cylinders, and comprehensive health coverage through the Ayushman-Chirayu scheme, alongside purchasing all crop variants at the Minimum Support Price (MSP).

Saini further emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s core governance philosophy of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas directly implements the vision of social equality championed by Saint Kabir and legally institutionalized by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar in the Indian Constitution. Invoking Baba Saheb’s historic formula to “educate, organize, and agitate,” the Chief Minister reiterated that the weapon of education is the only permanent tool to shatter the shackles of social disparity. The state-level convention was attended by several senior leadership figures, including Satish Khundia, Professor Jai Narayan, District President Ranjit Dhiman, and State General Secretary Anil Sarin, alongside a large gathering of community members.
