Governor Prof. Ashim Kumar Ghosh Directs Timely Completion of Lift Installation and Infrastructure Upgrades at Panchkula’s Saket Hospital

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Governor Professor Ashim Kumar Ghosh has issued strict administrative directives to fast-track the installation of a modern lift facility at the Mother Teresa Saket Orthopaedic Hospital in Panchkula. Reviewing the project’s physical and technical progress alongside Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Ranbir Gangwa at the Lok Bhavan in Chandigarh on Thursday, the Governor emphasized that public welfare infrastructure must be treated with the utmost urgency. He stated that the timely execution of this accessibility project is vital to alleviate the daily mobility challenges faced by visiting patients, particularly persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and their accompanying family members.

The infrastructure upgrade is being heavily backed by a financial grant of 1.50 crore rupees previously approved and sanctioned directly by the Governor to modernize the specialized healthcare facility. Out of the total allocated funds, a dedicated sum of 1 crore rupees is being utilized for the procurement and engineering setup of the advanced elevator system, while the remaining 50 lakh rupees has been earmarked for acquiring state-of-the-art medical devices and essential clinical equipment. During the high-level meeting, Gangwa, who also handles the administrative portfolio for the Public Health Engineering Department, provided a comprehensive status report on the logistical aspects of the installation, assuring the Governor that structural timelines would be rigorously maintained to prevent any public inconvenience.

Beyond the immediate scope of the hospital project, Governor Ghosh utilized the review session to evaluate the broader landscape of ongoing infrastructure and community welfare initiatives across the state. Turning his attention to rural development, the Governor explicitly instructed the Public Health Engineering wing to deploy advanced planning models to strengthen the availability, purity, and distribution efficiency of drinking water networks throughout Haryana’s rural sectors. He stressed that sustainable water resource management and seamless utility supply lines are fundamental to enhancing the overall standard of living for rural citizens.

The collaborative meeting concluded with the Governor emphasizing that all inter-departmental development projects linked to core public services must maintain a steady momentum without bureaucratic delays. He reiterated that his office will continue to closely monitor the state’s infrastructure milestones to ensure that public money is spent transparently and that the benefits of modernized healthcare, robust transport, and reliable civil utilities reach the ordinary residents of Haryana effectively.
