Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini asserted that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised for a major victory in the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections. Speaking to reporters after chairing the District Public Relations and Grievances Redressal Committee meeting at the Panchayat Bhawan in Sirsa, the Chief Minister stated that the impactful welfare schemes run by Haryana’s double-engine government are resonating deeply with the people of Punjab. He criticized the current Punjab administration, claiming it secured votes solely on empty promises and has now abandoned the public to their own fate, whereas the people of Punjab genuinely desire comprehensive development.
Reflecting on spiritual and historical legacies, Chief Minister Saini noted that the present leadership owes its position to the blessings of the Gurus. He emphasized that whenever righteousness faced a crisis, great saints and spiritual leaders sacrificed generations to protect the nation and its faith. Highlighting recent cultural initiatives, he mentioned that the martyrdom day of Sri Guru Arjan Dev Ji was formally observed in Panchkula to inspire future generations with the life of a great soul who sacrificed his entire family for the sake of religion and country.
Addressing student welfare and answering a question regarding the upcoming National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) re-examination, the Chief Minister assured that candidates would not face any logistical hardships. He announced that the Haryana government has arranged completely free bus transportation facilities for all examinees to ensure smooth travel to their respective test centers.
The Chief Minister also launched a sharp counter-attack against the opposition parties, accusing them of indulging in petty politics. Saini claimed that law and order was in shambles during the previous Congress regime, and reiterated that his administration maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward security compromises. He affirmed that the state government stands firmly committed to the safety of every citizen. Criticizing the opposition’s parliamentary conduct, Saini remarked that opposition leaders routinely flee whenever the government calls a formal legislative session instead of actively participating in debates. He concluded by highlighting that the state exchequer is continuously releasing funds to accelerate all-round development, with substantial budgets already dispatched to gram panchayats and municipalities to execute local projects at a rapid pace.
