Haryana Enhances Police Response with 312 Emergency Vehicles Flagged Off by CM Nayab Singh Saini

Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): In a major move to strengthen public safety and boost the state’s emergency response infrastructure, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini flagged off 312 Emergency Response Vehicles (ERVs) during an event at Laser Valley Park in Gurugram on Monday. The new fleet includes 310 motorcycles and two Honda Elevate SUVs, provided by the Honda India Foundation under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative at an estimated cost of ₹5 crore. The Chief Minister emphasized that these resources will play a vital role in ensuring swift assistance to citizens during emergencies and upgrading the state’s patrolling network.

The regional distribution of the fleet has been strategically planned to address urban traffic density and security needs. Gurugram has been allocated 60 motorcycles and one SUV, while Faridabad received 40 motorcycles and the second SUV. The remaining 210 motorcycles have been distributed across other districts to secure sensitive and high-traffic zones. Top police officials noted that the motorcycle-based units will be particularly effective in navigating congested areas and narrow lanes where traditional four-wheelers face delays, significantly increasing police visibility and operational agility.

While addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Saini lauded the operational efficiency of the state’s police force. He highlighted that while the national average response time for police emergencies stands at approximately 18 minutes, the Haryana Police has successfully reduced its response time to just 7 minutes and 3 seconds. The administration attributed this achievement to robust management, modern technological integration, and continuous logistical upgrades, describing rapid public assistance as a core element of good governance.

The induction ceremony concluded with an appeal from the Chief Minister for greater civic participation in road safety and traffic rule compliance. Directors and trustees from the Honda India Foundation, alongside senior cabinet ministers and top police officials, attended the event, marking a successful public-private collaboration aimed at optimizing urban policing and community safety frameworks.
