Calgary Police Announce June 2026 Photo Enforcement Locations to Improve Road Safety

Calgary (Rajeev Sharma): : The Calgary Police Service has announced its photo enforcement locations for June 2026, continuing efforts to improve road safety and reduce collisions across the city as part of Calgary’s Vision Zero initiative.

Throughout June, photo radar enforcement will focus on several Calgary communities where traffic safety concerns have been identified. The designated areas include Acadia, Aspen Woods, Beltline, Bridlewood, Castleridge, Chinatown, Cranston, Martindale, Patterson, Riverbend, Sandstone, Southwood, Sundance, Taradale, Thorncliffe, Walden and Willow Park.

In addition to community-based enforcement, photo radar vehicles will also be deployed in active construction zones where workers are present. Police officials say the initiative is intended to encourage drivers to slow down and help protect both road users and construction crews.

Authorities reminded motorists that speeding fines are based on how far a driver exceeds the posted speed limit. Drivers caught travelling more than 50 kilometres per hour over the speed limit can be required to appear before a judge, facing significantly more serious penalties.

Calgary also continues to operate 57 Intersection Safety Camera (ISC) locations throughout the city. These cameras are designed to capture red-light violations, while five of the sites are additionally equipped to enforce speed-on-green infractions. Officials say the camera program has contributed to reducing collisions and improving safety at some of Calgary’s busiest intersections.

The Calgary Police Service stated that the enforcement program remains part of its ongoing partnership with The City of Calgary to implement the Safer Mobility Plan. The shared objective is to achieve Vision Zero, a strategy aimed at eliminating traffic-related fatalities and serious injuries while creating safer roads for drivers, cyclists, pedestrians and transit users.

Police are encouraging all motorists to obey posted speed limits, remain alert in school and construction zones, and drive responsibly to help make Calgary’s roads safer for everyone.
