Calgary ( Rajeev Sharma): The Calgary Police Service Homicide Unit is continuing its investigation into a fatal shooting that took place earlier this week in northeast Calgary and has now released CCTV images of a suspect vehicle believed to be connected to the incident. Police say officers responded at approximately 7:50 p.m. on Monday, May 11, 2026, to reports of gunfire in the parking lot of the Calgary Co-op North Hill. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were transported to hospital, where one man was later pronounced deceased. The second victim remains in stable condition.
As part of the ongoing homicide investigation, detectives have released CCTV photos of the suspect vehicle. The vehicle is described as a white SUV with the passenger-side rear window partially broken and covered with tape. Investigators believe the public may be able to help identify the vehicle or provide information related to its movements before or after the shooting.
“Gun violence continues to be a serious concern in our community, and we are asking anyone who may have information, no matter how small it may seem, to come forward and assist investigators,” police said in an update released Thursday. “Community cooperation plays a critical role in helping us identify those responsible and ensuring public safety.” Police are appealing to anyone who may have dash cam footage recorded between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. on Monday, May 11, particularly in the area around 504 16 Ave. N.E. and routes heading eastbound toward Strathmore. Officers say community cooperation is essential in advancing the investigation.
