Faridabad (Balwinder Singh): A fresh security scare has emerged for influencer and reality show winner Elvish Yadav after he allegedly received an extortion demand of Rs 10 crore from an unknown sender claiming ties to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Officials said the threatening communication was reportedly sent through WhatsApp from an overseas number earlier this week. In his complaint to police, Elvish stated that he had first noticed a missed international call before threatening messages were later delivered to both him and his father.
The sender allegedly demanded the payment within two days and reportedly warned of severe consequences if the money was not transferred. The messages also allegedly included threats to physically harm the social media star.
Following the complaint, police in Gurugram registered a formal case at the local police station and handed the investigation to the Crime Branch for detailed examination.
Investigators are working to trace the number used to send the threats and determine whether the messages originated from organised criminal operatives or were intended to create panic by falsely invoking the gang’s name.
The case has once again raised concerns because of a previous attack linked to Elvish Yadav’s residence. In August 2025, unidentified attackers allegedly fired multiple rounds outside his home before fleeing the scene, triggering a major investigation.
Law enforcement agencies had later arrested several suspects connected to that shooting, with investigators probing possible gang involvement.
Police are now examining whether the latest extortion threat is connected to that earlier incident or represents an entirely separate attempt to intimidate the influencer.
Authorities said digital evidence is being analysed, and all possible leads are under scrutiny as the investigation moves forward. Neither Elvish Yadav nor his family has made any fresh public statement on the matter so far.
