Chandigarh (Naval Kishore): A five-day specialised training programme on Digital Forensics and Cyber Investigation was successfully conducted from May 4 to May 8, 2026, at CenCOPS in collaboration with Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) for Investigating Officers (IOs) from the police departments of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan.
The intensive programme focused on strengthening the investigative and technical capabilities of law enforcement personnel dealing with cybercrime and digital evidence-related cases. Key areas covered during the training included Digital Forensics, Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), Malware Forensics, CDR and IPDR Analysis, and advanced cyber investigation methodologies.
Cyber experts and specialist faculty members conducted detailed practical sessions and shared real-life case studies to provide participants with hands-on experience in modern forensic tools, digital evidence handling procedures, and advanced investigative techniques. Interactive discussions and scenario-based exercises allowed officers to gain deeper insights into investigating cyber-enabled crimes, tracing online activities, analyzing digital evidence, and understanding emerging cyber threats.
Officials stated that the programme reflects the continued commitment of CenCOPS and Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C) towards strengthening cyber policing capabilities and enhancing inter-state coordination in the fight against cybercrime.
