Chandigarh (Balwinder Singh): Haryana’s Minister for Cooperation, Jails, Elections, Heritage, and Tourism, Dr. Arvind Sharma, stated on Sunday that the ideals of Lord Parshuram are vital for the fortification of Sanatana culture. Speaking at a state-level event celebrating Parshuram Jayanti at the Brahmin Dharamshala in Kaithal, Dr. Sharma emphasized that Lord Parshuram, the sixth avatar of Lord Vishnu, is a revered figure for all of society rather than any single community. He noted that the deity’s struggle against injustice and tyranny serves as a timeless inspiration for social welfare.
Accompanied by BJP State President Mohan Lal Badoli, the Minister also tuned into Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Mann Ki Baat program during the event. Dr. Sharma highlighted the Prime Minister’s efforts to honour the deity’s legacy, including the formation of a research chair that identified Janapav near Indore as Lord Parshuram’s birthplace. He suggested that large-scale recitations and cultural events, similar to those held in Goa and at the Parshuram Kund in Arunachal Pradesh, should be organized across Haryana to spread knowledge about his life and ideals.
Meritorious Recruitment and Institutional Support
Turning to governance, Dr. Sharma asserted that under the leadership of PM Modi and CM Nayab Singh Saini, the state has transitioned to a transparent recruitment system. He reiterated the government’s “Bina Kharchi, Bina Parchi” (without bribes or slips) policy, ensuring that youth receive jobs solely based on merit. He also provided updates on several key projects dedicated to the deity’s memory:
- Medical Infrastructure: A medical college named after Lord Parshuram is being constructed at a cost of 1800 crore, while MBBS classes have already commenced at the Neki Ram Sharma Medical College in Bhiwani.
- Cultural Landmarks: A museum and memorial are set to be built on four acres in Rohtak, following approval from the Chief Minister. Additionally, various buildings and intersections, including the newly inaugurated Lord Parshuram Chowk in Kaithal, are being developed across the state.
- Educational Grants: The Minister announced a new grant of 11 lakh for the Brahmin Dharamshala in Kaithal, in addition to a previously sanctioned amount of 26 lakh.
BJP State President Mohan Lal Badoli echoed these sentiments, describing Lord Parshuram as an embodiment of penance and sacrifice. He noted that the government’s mantra of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas” aligns with the deity’s mission of protecting dharma and ensuring the welfare of all sections of society. The event concluded with a call for the community to remain united and continue drawing inspiration from their historical and spiritual roots.
