Chandigarh, Gurpreet Singh :- In view of the three-day Rose Festival commencing Friday, the Chandigarh Police has issued a detailed traffic and parking advisory to ensure smooth movement of vehicles and public safety during the event.
The annual festival, which draws large crowds from across the region, will be held at the iconic Zakir Hussain Rose Garden. Anticipating heavy footfall, authorities have announced special traffic arrangements, designated parking zones, and possible diversions around key roads leading to the venue.
Police officials stated that certain stretches near the Rose Garden may witness congestion during peak hours, particularly in the evening. Commuters have been advised to follow signboards, adhere to traffic personnel instructions, and use public transport wherever possible to avoid inconvenience.
Separate parking areas have been earmarked for visitors, VIPs, and event organisers to streamline vehicle management. Illegally parked vehicles will be towed away to prevent bottlenecks, officials warned.
The Chandigarh Police has appealed to residents and visitors to cooperate with the administration to ensure the festival concludes safely and without disruption.
