Calgary (Rajeev Sharma): Ramotsav 2026 was organised and celebrated in a truly grand and spiritually uplifting manner, as a large gathering of devotees came together to honour Lord Ram. The event was organised by IHF to commemorate the historic consecration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on December 22, 2024, with the same spirit of devotion beautifully reflected in Calgary.
celebrations began with Poojan, followed by the sacred chanting of Ram Raksha Stotram, led by Sonia Joshi and her dedicated team from IHF, filling the venue with a powerful sense of devotion and reverence. The programme continued with a Sanskrit recital highlighting the life and ideals of Lord Ram, along with the chanting of Bhujangam, which deeply resonated with the audience.
Acharya Ji delivered an inspiring discourse focusing on the timeless values of dharma, devotion, and righteousness, with meaningful participation from students. In recognition of his spiritual guidance and contribution to the community, Acharya Ji was formally honoured during the event.
The cultural segment was vibrant and engaging, featuring soulful bhajans, classical and contemporary dance performances, and musical presentations. Highlights included devotional bhajans such as “Ye Chamak Ye Dhamak” by Sakshi Sharma, “Siya Ram Jai Jai Ram”, and the much-celebrated “Aayenge Ram Aayenge”. Graceful Bharatanatyam, energetic dance medleys, and a lively medley karaoke performance added colour and enthusiasm to the evening.
Special recognition was given to performers for their outstanding contributions. Notable performances included “Ram Stuti” by Jaan Heer, a powerful dance performance by OHM, and “Hare Rama” presented by ISKCON. Performers OHM, Kavitha, and Kshitij were also honoured for their dedication and artistic excellence.
The programme concluded with the collective chanting of Hanuman Chalisa, followed by Aarti, and a heartfelt acknowledgement of the volunteers, whose commitment and hard work played a vital role in the successful execution of the event.
The celebrations ended on a joyous note as everyone partook in Prasadam. Sonia Joshi also expressed her gratitude, thanking all sponsors and tireless volunteers who contributed to making Ramotsav 2026 a resounding success. The large gathering of devotees left the event inspired and spiritually fulfilled, celebrating the eternal values and blessings of Lord Ram in a truly magnificent manner.
