Chandigarh, January 12: Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Monday said that the state welcomes all responsible institutions willing to partner in achieving healthcare goals while upholding ethics, transparency and public welfare. He emphasised that along with a strong public healthcare framework, the role of private diagnostic and medical services is equally important in ensuring quality healthcare for citizens.

The Chief Minister was addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Prem Sagar Heart Disease Hospital at the Vivekanand Arogya Kendra in Sector 12A, Gurugram, operated by the Bharat Vikas Parishad Maharana Pratap Nyas, Gurugram, on the occasion of Swami Vivekananda’s birth anniversary. Paying tribute to Swami Vivekananda on his 163rd birth anniversary, Saini also extended greetings to the people of the state on the festivals of Lohri, Makar Sankranti and Pongal.
Saini said the Haryana government has been making continuous efforts to ensure that healthcare services are affordable, accessible and effective for every citizen. Institutions like the Vivekanand Arogya Kendra, he said, strengthen these efforts at the grassroots level. Inspired by the Prime Minister’s Fit India message, the state government has expanded modern diagnostic and treatment facilities to reach the common people. He stressed that the government is committed to ensuring that no poor citizen is deprived of medical treatment due to financial constraints.
Highlighting the impact of public health schemes, the Chief Minister said that under the Ayushman Bharat–Chirayu Yojana, 1.34 crore cards have been issued so far, through which claims worth ₹4,500 crore have been provided for the treatment of nearly 25 lakh patients. He added that all senior citizens above the age of 70 are being provided free treatment of up to ₹5 lakh annually under the Ayushman Bharat scheme. Under this initiative, claims amounting to ₹53.57 crore have been given for the treatment of 26,513 elderly beneficiaries.
The Chief Minister further said the government is working to equip government hospitals with modern facilities comparable to private hospitals. In the first phase, such facilities have already been introduced in 10 district hospitals, while work is underway to develop similar infrastructure in 12 more district hospitals. The objective, he said, is to ensure that citizens receive quality and accessible treatment within their own districts.
On the occasion, Saini honoured eminent contributors associated with the institution and announced a financial assistance of ₹31 lakh for the organisation.
The inauguration ceremony was attended by Gurugram MLA Mukesh Sharma, Gurugram Mayor Raj Rani Malhotra, RSS regional functionary Pawan Jindal, Bharat Vikas Parishad national organising secretary Suresh Jain, Vivekanand Arogya Kendra president Vinod Mittal, associate Mukesh Aggarwal, RSS provincial co-head Pratap Yadav, provincial pracharak Dr Sunil Kumar, and several other dignitaries.
