210 Haryana Youth Receive Overseas Job Offer Letters at Karnal Event

Chandigarh, January 3: As part of the Haryana government’s efforts to promote safe and skill-based overseas employment, offer letters were handed over to 210 youth for jobs abroad during a programme held in Karnal on Saturday. The event was organised under the Panchjanya 2026 initiative by the Haryana Department of Foreign Cooperation and the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam Limited.

Union Minister for Power, Housing and Urban Affairs Manohar Lal attended the programme as the chief guest and urged young people to focus on skill development alongside formal education. He emphasised that acquiring vocational skills and learning foreign languages would open new opportunities while helping youth remain connected to the country’s cultural roots. He said self-reliance was essential not only for personal growth but also for strengthening families and the nation.

The Union Minister said that in the first phase, 225 youth were selected for employment in Israel, out of which 180 have already joined work there. He added that a fresh demand for around 10,000 workers has been received from Israel. In the second phase, 210 youth have now been selected for overseas employment, including opportunities in Dubai. He said the government is ensuring complete support, including passports, visas and security arrangements for those going abroad through official channels, unlike illegal routes that offer no protection.

Highlighting the importance of skilling, Manohar Lal said that although Haryana accounts for only about two percent of the country’s population, its contribution to the armed forces stands at nearly ten percent. This, he said, reflects the discipline, capability and dedication of the state’s youth. He called upon students to work continuously on enhancing their skills and talents from an early stage.

State Minister for Sports, Youth Empowerment and Entrepreneurship Gaurav Gautam said that new dimensions of global employment have opened up and the state government has taken proactive steps to ensure that youth benefit from these opportunities in a safe and transparent manner. He said the system of merit-based recruitment without “parchi” or “kharchi” was introduced during the tenure of Manohar Lal as Chief Minister and is being carried forward by Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini. He added that the Chief Minister fulfilled his promise of providing jobs to 24,000 youth immediately after assuming office.

Gautam said the Department of Foreign Cooperation was created to facilitate secure overseas employment for youth, ensuring that all necessary formalities are completed before they leave the country. He appealed to the selected candidates to uphold Haryana’s reputation abroad and return with skills and experiences that could inspire other young people.

Principal Secretary of the Department of Foreign Cooperation Amneet P Kumar said the government stands firmly with the youth at every stage, from training to selection. She announced that coaching for foreign languages such as German, Japanese, English and French will be introduced soon under a proposed Foreign Language Policy. Under this policy, language training centres will be established at various locations across the state, including one in Karnal. She also informed that a workshop in collaboration with the United Kingdom is planned for February.

Assandh MLA Yogendra Rana, Chief Minister’s OSD Virender Dahiya, HKRNL CEO Amit Khatri, Mayor Renu Bala Gupta and senior district administration officials were also present at the programme.
