Punjab government suspends all contractual workers of PRTC, PUNBUS over protest against kilometre scheme

National Times Bureau :- The Punjab government has taken strict action against the ongoing strike protesting the cancellation of tenders for buses operating under the kilometre scheme. All employees participating in the strike have been suspended. The department has sent emails to all temporary workers informing them of the action.
The email states that the employees caused financial loss to the government by taking part in an illegal protest. A penalty has been imposed for not running buses on their routes, and all involved employees have been suspended from service with immediate effect.
