Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini Attends State-Level Sant Namdev Ji Maharaj Ceremony in Hisar

Sant Namdev’s Life Symbolizes Love, Devotion, and Equality: CM Saini

Chandigarh, October 26 — Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini attended the state-level ceremony of Sant Namdev Ji Maharaj in Hisar, organized under the “Sant-Mahapurush Vichar Samman evam Prasar Yojana” launched by the Haryana government to spread the teachings of saints and great personalities among the public. The event was held at Guru Jambheshwar University of Science and Technology, Hisar.

Addressing the gathering, CM Saini paid tribute to Sant Namdev Ji, describing him as a symbol of love, devotion, and equality. He said that Sant Namdev Ji worked to unite humanity by eradicating discrimination, untouchability, and social inequality.

During the ceremony, the Chief Minister announced that one state government institution in Haryana will be named after Sant Namdev Ji Maharaj. He also declared a grant of ₹51 lakh for the maintenance of community dharamshalas and the installation of solar panels. Additionally, he assured that land will be allotted in Bhiwani, Panipat, and Narnaul if the community applies as per rules, and other pending community demands will be addressed through respective departments.

CM Saini said that Sant Namdev Ji saw the divine in every human being and worked to eliminate casteism and social bias. He emphasized that true religion is the one that unites humanity and teaches compassion. The Chief Minister noted that Sant Namdev Ji’s message of hard work, devotion, and honesty is deeply rooted in Haryana’s social consciousness, reflected in the lives of its farmers, workers, and artisans.

Government Ensuring Inclusive Development and Social Harmony
Saini highlighted that the state government has worked for social harmony, equality, and balanced growth, bringing positive transformation to the lives of common citizens. Government services have become easily accessible, eliminating the need for people to visit offices repeatedly. The CM reaffirmed that the government is committed to uplifting every section of society, especially the poorest, ensuring that development benefits reach the last person.

Teachings of Saints Relevant in Realizing PM Modi’s Vision of a Developed India
CM Saini said that as India moves toward becoming a developed nation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the teachings of saints and spiritual leaders remain deeply relevant. The motto “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, and Sabka Prayas” is inspired by the saint tradition that promotes unity and collective growth.

He said that saints and spiritual leaders are not only the moral heritage of India but also its guiding force. The government, through the “Sant-Mahapurush Vichar Samman evam Prasar Yojana,” aims to bring their life lessons to the younger generation for inspiration and guidance.

Schemes for Equality and Upliftment of the Poor
Highlighting welfare initiatives, CM Saini said that the government has implemented several schemes to improve the living standards of the poor, inspired by the equality preached by great saints. Following the vision of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay’s Antyodaya philosophy, the state has launched programs to economically empower families left behind in development.

Taking a dig at the opposition, the CM said that before 2014, there was no OBC Commission, and the previous government only used the OBC community as a vote bank. It was Prime Minister Modi who ensured justice by forming the OBC Commission.

He also accused Congress of exploiting the poor, pointing out that in 2013, it promised 100-square-yard plots but never delivered ownership or possession. The BJP government, he said, not only allotted the plots but also provided ownership documents to beneficiaries.

Empowering the Backward Classes and Women
CM Saini said the income limit for the OBC creamy layer has been increased from ₹6 lakh to ₹8 lakh annually. Reservation for OBC (A) in urban local bodies and Panchayati Raj Institutions has been fixed at 8%, while OBC (B) enjoys 5% reservation for sarpanch posts and 50% in proportion to their population for other positions.

He added that under the “Aapki Beti Hamari Beti” scheme, financial assistance of ₹21,000 per girl child has been provided to 5.64 lakh families. The “Deendayal Lado Lakshmi Yojana” will soon benefit 20 lakh women with monthly aid of ₹2,100 starting from Haryana Day. Under various housing schemes, 1,75,547 families have received houses or plots, and under Chirayu-Ayushman Yojana, 25.39 lakh patients have received free treatment worth over ₹3,486 crore.

Sant Namdev Ji’s Message of Unity Still Inspires Society
Public Works and Water Supply Minister Ranbir Singh Gangwa described Sant Namdev Ji as a great saint and reformer who spread the message of love, equality, and devotion. He said the state government has set a new tradition by celebrating the anniversaries of saints and great personalities at the state level including Sant Kabir Das, Guru Ravidas, Lord Vishwakarma, Lord Parshuram, and Sant Dhanna Bhagat a practice never followed by previous governments.

Gangwa praised CM Saini for ensuring equal opportunities for all, adding that those once called “unqualified” are now joining HCS and other elite services. He said the Namdev community is progressing toward self-respect and self-reliance under the government’s policies, which ensure that citizens receive their rights without having to demand them.

Prominent attendees included MLA Savitri Jindal, former ministers Captain Abhimanyu, Dr. Kamal Gupta, Hisar Mayor Praveen Popli, Satbir Verma, and several Namdev Sabha officials along with people from across the state.
