Rohtak (Balwinder Singh): In the wake of the tragic death of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Sandeep Lather, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini paid a visit to the officer’s residence, expressing solidarity with the grieving family and assuring them of a fair and transparent investigation.
During his visit, the Chief Minister offered condolences to the bereaved family and spoke at length with relatives of the late ASI, who was reportedly found dead under circumstances being described as an alleged suicide.
CM Saini conveyed that the state government is committed to uncovering the full facts surrounding the incident. “A thorough investigation will be conducted, and accountability will be ensured. The family’s concerns will not go unheard,” he stated.
The Chief Minister also directed senior district and police officials to ensure that all support mechanisms — both financial and procedural — are extended to the family without delay.
The death of ASI Lather has raised serious questions within the police department and the broader public. While official sources suggest suicide, calls have grown louder for a deeper probe into the factors that may have contributed to his death, including possible stress linked to duty or internal pressures.
The police force has expressed shock over the incident and pledged full cooperation with any inquiries initiated at the state level. Meanwhile, CM Saini emphasized the need to approach the matter with sensitivity and urgency.
As the investigation progresses, attention remains on how the state will address concerns around mental health and occupational stress within the police force — an issue that has come to the forefront following this unfortunate event.
