Chandigarh, October 13 – Haryana Public Works and Public Health Engineering Minister Ranbir Gangwa inaugurated the newly constructed municipal building in Barwala on Monday. Speaking at the inaugural ceremony, the minister said the government’s top priority is to ensure efficient public service delivery and smooth execution of civic works. He noted that the new municipal building was a long-pending need for the region and confirmed that efforts are underway to upgrade Barwala Municipality to the status of a Municipal Council.
Gangwa emphasized that the development and beautification of the city are the prime responsibilities of the municipal body. He directed local officials to work with full dedication to achieve these goals. The minister also informed that, apart from building construction projects under the Public Works Department, several other development initiatives are in progress, including the establishment of multiple community centres across the city.
He announced that tenders for a new sports stadium will soon be issued, and the blueprint for a city library has already been prepared. “The library construction will begin soon, and ₹12 crore has been allocated for the improvement of roads and streets to make Barwala more beautiful,” he said.
Gangwa further added that a major drainage project will be completed before the next monsoon season to prevent waterlogging in Barwala. He assured residents that once completed, the project would permanently resolve the issue of rainwater accumulation.
Reaffirming his commitment to Aatmanirbhar Bharat, the minister encouraged citizens to adopt Swadeshi products and support local farmers, artisans, small-scale industries, and youth entrepreneurs to strengthen India’s economic and industrial growth.
After inaugurating the new building, Minister Gangwa addressed public grievances and instructed concerned departments to take prompt action. During the event, he also fulfilled a promise made to a differently-abled person by gifting them a scooter. Later, he attended a programme of the All India Seva Sangh at Barwala’s Punjabi Dharamshala.
The event was attended by District Municipal Commissioner Neeraj, Municipal Chairman Ramesh Batterywala, Vice Chairman Tarachand Nalwa, SDM Dr. Ved Prakash Beniwal, former Chairman Randhir Singh Dheeru, and former IPS officer Dalbir Bharti.
