Faridkot, September 25: Punjab Assembly Speaker Kultar Singh Sandhwan on Tuesday evening visited several wards of Kotkapura town, including wards 5, 7, and 8, to review ongoing development works under the state government and interact with residents. During the public outreach, he listened to the problems faced by locals and directed officials to resolve the issues at the earliest.
Residents highlighted challenges such as poor sewerage management, frequent power disruptions, and the deteriorated condition of local streets. Assuring quick action, Speaker Sandhwan said that genuine demands of citizens would be addressed in coordination with government departments. He added that the state government is committed to providing basic facilities to people and instructed officials present to ensure early completion of development projects in the area.
Sandhwan also appealed to residents to contribute towards keeping the district clean and emphasized the importance of cleanliness. He urged locals to separate wet and dry waste and deposit it in municipal council collection vehicles.
Highlighting the state’s progress in the education sector, the Speaker said that under Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s “Education Revolution” initiative, Punjab’s schools have seen significant improvements. He noted that better learning environments have been created, empowering students to excel academically.
Chairman Gurmeet Singh Arewala, along with Mehar Singh, Rahul Sharma, Deepak Khanna, Naresh Singla, Paramjit Singh Pamma, and Simranjit Mahant MC, were also present on the occasion.
