Dabwali, Haryana (Balwinder Singh): Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Saturday flagged off the Dabwali Youth Marathon, organised under the state-wide ‘Haryana Uday’ campaign to raise awareness about the dangers of drug addiction.
Addressing participants, CM Saini said the marathon was symbolic of a larger movement. “This is not just a run, but the beginning of a healthier and stronger Haryana. Our objective is to lead the youth away from drugs and towards the discipline and positivity that sports bring,” he remarked.
According to the Chief Minister, the ‘Haryana Uday’ program has already seen 2,483 activities conducted across Haryana, drawing participation from more than 16.5 lakh people. He described it as the largest public mobilisation campaign in the state’s history, aimed at encouraging fitness, social awareness, and community involvement.
The Dabwali event witnessed enthusiastic participation from youth, social organisations, and local residents, all united in spreading the message of a drug-free society. Officials said such marathons and cultural initiatives are helping foster awareness at the grassroots level, particularly among the younger generation.
